Biography

Rahul Mukherji is Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science, located within the South Asia Institute in Heidelberg University. He is also the Deputy Director of the South Asia Institute. Rahul has taught at the National University of Singapore, the Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi), Hunter College (New York) and the University of Vermont (Burlington). He serves on the board of journals such as India Review, Pacific Affairs and Governance. Rahul has co-authored with Sumit Ganguly, India Since 1980 (Cambridge University Press, 2011, Portuguese translation 2014). His two recent book are Political Economy of Reforms in India (Oxford University Press, 2014), and Globalization and Deregulation: Ideas, Interests and Institutional Change in India (Oxford University Press, 2014). Rahul holds a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University.
