Biography

Jakub Zajączkowski, PhD, D.Litt is a Professor at the Institute of International Relations, University of Warsaw. Director of the Institrute since 2016. He is the Deputy-Director of the Institute for Research and International Cooperation (2012-2016), a chairperson of the Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies, and a chairperson of the Section of Asia-Pacific in the Institute. He is co-chairperson of the Centre for Polish and Central European Studies at Manipa University and University of Calcutta. He is a member of Academic Council of Polish and Central European Studies Centre at Sichuan University (School of International Studies). He is editor in chief of „Stosunki Międzynarodowe – International Relations” research journal published by the Institute of International Relations UW. He was coordinator of several EU-funded research projects (Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies, EU India Action Plan Suport Facility, Number of contract: ASIE/2009/215-062), Erasmus Mundus projects. He was awarded by Fellowship for Best Your Scholar awarded by Ministry of Higher Education and Science (2011-2014) and the fellowship for Young Researchers of the Foundation for Polish Science (2007, 2008). Visiting Professors in over 20 universities in India, China, Australia, U.S. and the European Union. His research focus on international relations in South Asia and Indian Ocean region, International Relations in Asia-Pacific, Foreign Policy of India, the EU-Asia relations, regionalism and globalism in international relations. He has published over 50 articles in various research journals and edited volumes. He is co-editor of: India in the Contemporary World (Routledge 2014), Asia-Pacific Region in Intrnational Relations (2016), East Asia and South Asia in International Relations (Warsaw 2011); and author of the books: India in International Relations (Warsaw 2008), the European Union in International Relations (2006).
