PhD Fellow Proma Ray Chaudhury attends the Gender and Sexuality History Workshop at Cambridge University

PhD Fellow Proma Ray Chaudhury presented at the Gender and Sexuality History Workshop at Cambridge University, 30 April 2019. She presented a paper entitled ‘(Re)imagining the Deshmatrika: Gender in the Contemporary Articulations of Bengali Nationalism’. In this presentation, she spoke about the abiding influence and diverse articulations of late 19th and early 20th century Bengali Nationalism through Critical Discourse Analysis of the All India Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
